a snippet from a recent maternity session 500 miles away of 3 of my favorites (that’s right, Baby Shorty, I’m already a fan)…
I apologize for my lack of blog posts. It has been a super crazy 2 weeks over here PLUS all the bridal sessions I want to post but can’t until after the weddings. Bear with me! I have TONS to share very soon! My editing fingers are working as fast as possible!!
Baby Jackson is due in June and he has a wonderful, loving family waiting for him
. Last friday, Jason, Cindy, 4 year old Luke, and I met at the Governor’s Mansion for a family maternity shoot. My first maternity shoot!! It was so much fun and I had so many ideas that I had been dying to try out. It was an absolutely PERFECT day too! Here are my favorites:

Luke is so excited about his new brother:

Hot mama:

LOVE this!

I love how animated Luke is:

Dr. Luke (who knew being a nurse would come in handy for photography?)… he didn’t hear much in mommy’s belly, but he got so excited when he listened to his own grumbling belly. Good thing I brought along fruit snacks to fix that. They also worked very well for bribery
.

Luke opened up to me very quickly… mostly because he thought I was “Aunt Sara.” That’s okay, I can be Aunt Sara

another FAV:

heck yes…

Okay. Look at Luke’s face in the right image. Hilarious.

I love this image. Babies are the biggest gift & miracle God gives us.

This might look weird without explanation… I brought along some finger paints to paint Cindy’s belly. It’s one of the ideas I wanted to try. I thought it would be fun for Luke, but wasn’t sure how well it would work out. Cindy and Jason were so great about letting me try all my new stuff that they were willing to take the chance of being covered in blue paint. Of course I waited until the end of the session to try this one, but this one also worked well for bribery throughout the first part of the session. Luke couldn’t wait for the finger paints! I kept saying, “we are going to have so much fun painting mommy’s belly.” He loved it and I love the way it turned out! When we finished, Luke said, “Let’s have some more fun… I want to have some more fun.” So cute.

The finished product… a little lopsided, but I still love it

Stay tuned for Jackson’s newborn portraits in June!!
