…was born 26 years ago TODAY! HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my best friend & my #1 favorite (I have to specify because I seem to have a lot of favorites…)! Sweet Wes, it is safe to say that everyone who knows you is thankful for you, especially me You have added so much to the lives of those you love… as a brother, son, friend, teacher, contractor, and of course, husband. I am honored to be your wife– I just can’t believe that God chose me! I couldn’t ask for a better life than to be with you- I thank God every day for you! I love you so much!

Bday festivity pictures to come later. Today I am taking him lunch and cupcakes at school- I tried to do this last year, but he wouldn’t let me since it was his first day EVER teaching. I guess I understand . Tonight I am taking him on a date, golf on Saturday, and family celebration Saturday night, so I should have lots to share!

Today is the day my bestie was born. Today is special. Mary O, you are the sweetest person I know. I love you and I hope you have an absolutely wonderful day! You deserve ALL the best. Can’t wait to celebrate tonight!

…my collection of vintage cameras, that is. Those of you who follow my blog regularly might know that I have been collecting vintage cameras found from thrift stores all over, flea markets 500 miles away, and my wonderful grandfather who passed away several years ago. I have been searching high and low for the camera pictured below to complete my collection. Who shows up on my doorstep the other day with this camera? None other than my amazing mother in law. The best part? It was HER’s as a young girl!! I feel honored. I feel special. I feel officially cool, but also slightly nerdy. I feel like I am kind of a big deal right now. Shelly, thank you thank you thank you! I love you so much and I will cherish this FOREVER!

Every year, Wes’s family goes to Edisto for vacation. This is my 5th year going! It’s kind of funny looking back because the first time I went, Wes and I had only been dating a few months and the Parker vacation has always been an exclusive event. It was sort of an unspoken rule that you weren’t REALLY supposed to go unless you were practically family (which I didn’t know until later…), so I guess I feel pretty privileged . It has been the greatest pleasure to be part of this family. God has blessed me beyond blessings! This year was special because Ali (the Parker’s foster child from 2 months to 4 years. He is now 13) came to visit for the summer! Kait (Wes’s sister reconnected with Ali’s mom on Facebook!). Ali lives in Philly, so he doesn’t get to see the beach a whole lot and he was just beside himself! He really had trouble leaving after a week. I have really enjoyed getting to know him. He is such a sweetheart and he cracks me up!
