lg. : in action & workin’ it

I met Lauren of Lauren Gossett Photography just a few months ago and she is quickly becoming a dear friend! She is a fellow photographer in Columbia and surrounding areas and she wanted some photos for her business, so we got together last week and had a blast! We shot for 2 and a half hours and went all over downtown Columbia. Initially, you may say to yourself, “self, I am so sick of seeing pictures of people on Main Street”, but no worries! I selected some new spots for this shoot!! :) Lauren, you ROCKED the camera. Thanks for the pizza and hangout!! I can’t wait for my pictures in July!! Enjoy!

The sunglasses on top of her head were her grandmother’s when she was young! So cool!

Now, Lauren did notify me that she is not in the least bit interested in kayaking, but I just LOVED the colors!

Back to Reality

Last Wednesday evening Wes, Dylan, Karin, and I left for St. Augustine and got back tonight. It was one of the BEST vacations I have EVER had!! I cannot explain to you how much I love our friends. We had a weekend full of beach time, photo shoots, junk food, shopping sprees, sunrises & sunsets, movie nights, nightlife and much more!! We got an AMAZING house for a ridiculously good deal. We also had the huge pleasure of visiting our good friend Susan. She is in grad school in St. Augustine- lucky her!! Here is a group shot of all of us… I have tons of images to share later!! For now, it’s back to reality. Boooooo.

St. Augustine will definitely be a yearly tradition!! I can’t wait until next year!! We love you guys!

****If your name is LANCE and you are getting married August 1st, you may NOT look at these pictures!!!!! If you do, I will hunt you down. thank you :) ****

I think we risked our lives for this shoot. This is Meg. She is getting married August 1st. I could not get over how gorgeous she looked!! We had planned to take the pictures last Wednesday, but it called for 60% chance rain so we rescheduled for Thursday. Well, Wednesday ended up with no rain and Thursday was beautiful until the minute I arrived at the USC Horseshoe for the portraits. The sky was black and there were tornado warnings! I checked my radar and the storm was almost on top of Columbia. As soon as Meg arrived, I quickly started the shoot and, by the grace of God, we got 1 good hour in before the sky opened up and I felt like I was about to get struck by lightning and swept off my feet by the gale force winds. I think the shoot went really well and it was awesome lighting! Meg- thanks for working with me! I had so much fun doing your portraits! Hope you enjoy and I can’t wait for the wedding! (Meg’s make-up was done by Pout. They did a GREAT job!)

**Back to the beach :) I am in St. Augustine with 3 of my favorite people until Monday!!**

Caleb & Kayla

You may remember Caleb & kayla from back in the day when I first started my business– a little over a year ago…ha… Seems forever ago ;) They were some of my first clients and two of my favorite people. They just moved to Fort Rucker in Alabama because Caleb just became an Army Warrant Officer and that is where he is stationed to be trained. They wanted some more pictures before the big move and also some with Caleb in his uniform. Enjoy!!

I’ll start out with the casuals:

I purposely focused on the window instead of Caleb & kayla for this one because I LOVE the look & feel of it!

Caleb had the idea of pretending to throw Kayla in the fountain. I like the way it turned out :) Props to Caleb.

**On another note… I would like to express my uncontainable excitement for our upcoming vacation with two of our bestest buds! We are leaving Wednesday night for St. Augustine and will be gone until Monday. If you’re lucky, I will blog while I am there, but no promises ;) . I will; however, return with some JAM-UP pictures of a very cute couple… you will just have to wait in suspense to find out who :) **
