Get ready for my big finale of Philly posts…
Last Saturday, Jay & Kerith tied the knot and we were guests this time! They are on their honeymoon as we speak. I must say that it was nice to be the guest for once at a wedding. I just sat back and took random, no-pressure photos and it was a blast! I had to post lots of photos so you could get the full effect of how fun the day was…Kerith looked amazing and there were so many sweet and creative details.
Seven of us (me, Wes, Robin, Shelley Julien, Marita, Anna, & Kent) packed into the bad-smelling Dodge minivan to ride to the church:

The maid of honor, Kait, and her soon-to-be hubby Kent!!

Some artsy fartsy photos of Marita while waiting for the wedding to start. It was fun to see what kind of images I could capture throughout the day with only my 50mm lens and no flash.

The church was beautiful…

I love how the ringbearer had on Chucks and the flowergirl had on ONE blingin’ silver shoe… I wonder if they ever found the other shoe??

Happy bride

LOVE this one:

Outside of the church:

Let me just tell you about this reception. Props to Kerith for all her creative ideas. I could tell a lot of work was put into the reception to ensure the guests had a GREAT time. Complete dessert bars, candy buffets, dress-up for the little girls, GIGANTIC strawberries, singing, dancing, handmade decorations, tacos, speeches… It was a JAM-UP reception:

Cake and cupcakes by Shelley Julien: Great job, Shelley!!

Kerith made these to hang on the back porch…added such a great touch!

My fellow budding photographer:

The couple decided to be introduced by entertaining us with an amazing swing dance! They started taking lessons back in December and it definitely paid off! Great job, Jay & Kerith!! I love this series:

Had to wear the Chucks:

Kerith changed back into her wedding dress after the dance, but decided not to ditch the Chucks. Love it. By the way, they had incredible wedding day weather: 90 degrees and sunny… for the life of me, I cannot figure out how she got back in that wedding dress after dancing. I was sweating just standing still… SO HOT!

Oh, I forgot to mention the pinada for the kids… Marita taking a whack at it…

hmmm… Peter Pan syndrome??

I was all over this:

Kait made a very nice speech… made me tear up. In the picture to the left she is motioning toward Kent while saying how happy she is that they have both found the men they have always dreamed of
(Kait & Kerith have been best friends since 4th grade!)

Jay performed the song he wrote when he proposed to Kerith:

Kerith’s family is very musical. Her dad and brother performed the song for their first dance (well, really second dance):

Such a CUTE kid!!

Another cutie:

The huge strawberries:

This is hilarious. The cake cutting. Check out this series:

Marita caught the bouquet!

Then I held it for her while she went to the restroom. I was instructed not to let it out of my sight

Lots of goofiness:

Thank-you speech.

OOOO…wedding food baskets are the best!

Anna, that is impressive.

sparklers!!

Congratulations Kerith & Jay!!!

We left to drive back to SC early the next morning. I didn’t do so well with the stops on the way home. I drank coffee 1 hr into the trip. One stop was Burger King and Shelly wanted a kids meal with Spongebob included. He came with stickers with which to decorate him. Shelly was disappointed to find that he was already assembled when she got back in the car… sorry Shells! He made a good 8th passenger. At one point, he even started break dancing to our christian rap music. Spongebob, you rock.
